Spotlight:Mortal Online(PC)
At the time of this spotlight post Mortal Online is in Open Beta mode.

Mortal Online is an upcoming MMORPG by the Swedish video game company Star Vault that is currently in the Beta testing stage. The game uses Unreal Engine 3 by Epic Games and focuses on a sandbox-style of gameplay. Pre-orders started on July 13, 2009, with Block A of the Beta having begun on July 20, 2009.
Mortal Online will primarily be an RPG game, with core sandbox mechanisms allowing much more freedom to the player than the typical MMORPG. The game has no level/class system, but rather a skill based system. Gameplay will be measured heavily on the player’s own skill as well as the in-game skills chosen for the character. There will be different races for the player to chose from. Players can have multiple characters per account, and all characters on a specific account share a soul called a Deva which binds the actions of all characters together.
The player’s character will have different types of attributes. Basic attributes contain the player’s name, the name of the player’s Deva, Race, Sex, etc. Most of these attributes are permanent, or at least won’t change very often. Primary attributes such as Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence define the core of the player’s character and gives the player the possibility to train certain skills, and limits to what extent the player can train others. The player starts the game with a certain amount of points that the player distributes on the different attributes, and when playing the game the player will slowly improve the attributes by using skills. Also, improving an attribute will give every skill based on that attribute a small boost. However, the Primary Attributes have a “cap”, meaning once the player has reached a certain number of points in all his/her attributes, the player cannot increase them anymore, at least not in the usual way. To increase Strength for example, the player will have to obtain those points by decreasing another attribute of choice. This means that the player can never max out on all Primary Attributes, rather there has to be a choice about what will be the strengths and weaknesses of the player’s character. Secondary attributes are calculated from other attributes, like Health, Mana, Stamina, Movement, etc. Skills may also affect these attributes
